When In Rome...
When I decided a few months ago, I never expected it to turn out quite the way it did. Originally, I thought about going to Rome by myself but wasn't 100% sure about doing that just yet. So, I put the idea forward to a few friends and got a lot of responses saying they were interested. And so...

It started off well. Chris and I turned up to the train station, only to realise that our train was actually for the next day when we were suppose to be in Rome. Mistake on our part (mainly mine but lets just ignore that fact). New tickets bought we got on the train to Manchester Airport.
More than seven hours in the airport, coffee was drank and Game of Thrones was watched. Tiff and Gabe arrived, we got on our plane and left for Rome.
Issue Number One...
When we arrive in Rome we encountered our first, and biggest, problem. Our AirBnB didn't exist. Yep. Not just booked the wrong day (can't blame me this time), it just didn't exist. We rang the buzzer. No answer. We ring another BnB buzzer and get a response of "we have no bookings today, go away". We managed to get into the building only to discover that the flat we were staying in had a giant padlock on the door which also looked like it hadn't been opened since Italy changed sides in the Second World War.
So, what do we do?
First, we needed to wait for Matt, who booked the AirBnB, to arrive. In four hours time.  In the meantime, we Googled hostels and found a very decently priced one not too far from where we were. We made our way over, found the bar and started purchased some double rum and cokes. Now, I don't know if the Italians use a different system for measurement than we do here in the UK. Maybe they changed things after Brexit. The reason I say this was because a "double" rum and coke turn out to be a pint glass with four shots (and a splash more) of rum and teaspoon of coke. I'm not complaining... Just wondering why it can't be that way here...
